Christmas Appeal

H.V.D.V Christmas Appeal 2016

Registered Charity Number 1161380

Each year there are lots of children that spend their Christmas Day in a Refuge, not through their fault or their parent that has suffered Domestic Abuse but because they have had to move their world to escape Domestic Violence.

They have very little if not only the few clothes they have fled with. Sometimes there is very little money if any money at all.

“Can you imagine spending Christmas day with nothing to open or even as the parent not being able to buy anything for your children? Because you can no longer take the physical abuse, mental abuse or emotional abuse”

It must make them feel awful. They have already been run into the ground by the abuser, made to feel no one cares about them. They have been stripped of their self-esteem and anything else they had.

Last year the shoe boxes Appeal was truly amazing 803 boxes from around Wiltshire came in. Below are some of the feedback from families who got shoe boxes/gift bags in 2015

Feed back from DV families and DV support workers in pervious years of

the HVDV Christmas Appeals

HVDV Christmas Appeal 2015

From refuge support worker Firstly I would like to say how grateful We are for the presents the children received. we were really pleased you guys were able to do this.

Everyone we have had feedback from were so overwhelmed by the gifts and how kind people can be which is lovely considering what they have been through.

Many thanks

********************

Happy New Year to you all!!

What can I say, thank you just doesn’t seem enough, all the women and children loved all the gifts, thank you, thank you so much, we really cannot express in words what your support means to us each year, what would we do without you.

All I can say is you made so many people happy, they could not believe the generosity and how many gifts they received, some even commented, “this is the best Christmas” and as we are a refuge that was good to hear,

So again thank you for continued support.

Kind regards

********************

I have spoken to our Dv support worker re the reaction from the families who she delivered the Christmas boxes to, she said that the mums were overwhelmed by the amount of gifts and very grateful to have been included, so thank you very much, it is great to know exactly what you offer now so that I can hopefully contact you if I have any mums and children in need.

Many thanks

H.V.D.V Christmas boxes appeal 2014

Those boxes were amazing!!!!!! Certainly loved by the clients we gave them to and I have a quote from one of our ladies for you....

“Such a lovely idea ... it was a real box of treats ... so generous – thank you”

******************************

I have to say that I was really impressed with the quality of the ones I saw and I thought it was an absolutely brilliant idea.

Just wanted you to know that they were all very much appreciated

******************************

The Mums that received the boxes were very touched indeed, some of the messages written to them in the cards were so lovely and it was really quite emotional.

So thank you and your team as they really did have a wonderful impact.

******************************

Just want to write and say a big thank you for the boxes you supplied and delivered yesterday, I got the enjoyable bit of delivering and seeing the happy and sometimes tearful faces of the families involved.

Thank you all for making such a big difference.
